REVIEW: The Stage, October 2002 Guildford
The Magic Dust A harbinger of the pantomime season wafted through Guildford Civic Hall when this show had the children vociferously helping a certain Mr. Panda to recover magic dust stolen by an evil witch. The show is written and directed by children’s entertainer Lorraine L Brooker, who also acts as storyteller under the name Rainbow BigBottom. Delivering her lines in mellow tones, she at once captivates her young audience and holds their attention for 75 minutes of thrilling adventures, including a trip to the moon. En routes she introduces a Genie, Spaceman, Moonbeam and several clowns. Magic Dust is year round children’s entertainment with well known music, good singing and a couple of sequences for young dancers.
